 Imperial Japanese Katana
We are proud to introduce our new Imperial Japanese Katana, masterfully made specifically to be used in "the way of the sword", rather then hung on the wall. Using specially forged and tempered High Carbon or Spring Steel we've produced a high quality blade that truly out performs our competition's. The Imperial Katana Japanese Katana exceedes the expectations of martial artistes for strength, cutting power, and most importantly, craftsmanship. Each sword blade is individual hand forged, heat treated, tempered and polished by skilled hands creating a true battle ready weapon.
Keeping with Japanese traditions our Imperial Japanese Katana is crafted using only traditional materials and fittings. The Tsuba (guard), Fuchi (collar), and Kashira (pommel) are expertly made and finely crafted from black iron. The Habaki (blade collar) is hand made out of polished brass and each tsuka (handle) is covered in real black Same' (ray skin) and tightly wrapped in the traditional cross over style ito (braid) with green cord.
It takes time to produce swords of this quality and this is why our Imperial Japanese Katana cost more and are more difficult to acquire. It is best to order or reserve your blade as soon as possible as we do not always have full availability in stock. We take great pride in the quality and performance of or swords, we will not compromise this quality and performance just to sell more swords. Visit Imperial Forge

 Hanwei Practical Katana
Now available to match Hanwei's ever popular new 6th generation Practical Katana (SH1070) is the Practical Wakizashi (SH2061), giving the martial artist the opportunity to own and use a Hanwei sword at the cost of an economy sword. The blade is forged and differentially tempered, using the same process as the more expensive blades and producing an HRC60 edge and HRC40 back. The temper line is authentic and prominent. Cost savings are effected by using fittings which, while making no claims to authenticity, are very strongly built to withstand the rigors of cutting exercises in the dojo.
Both the Practical Katana and Practical Wakizashi feature imitation rayskin handles with traditional black cord wrap, black coated metal antiqued tsubas and wooden scabbard with a rich black lacquer finish. The Practical Katana (SH1070) and Practical Wakizashi (SH2061) Sword by Paul Chen is undoubtedly the best value available in a Japanese Samurai Katana sword.

 Hanwei Practical Plus Katana
The Practical Plus Katana (SH2073) is the latest addition to the Hanwei Samurai sword line, providing a very economical cutting sword as dependable as the Practical Katana (1070-GT above), but using more traditional fittings and construction methods. The high carbon blade is forged and differently tempered (HRC60 edge, HRC40 back) and the hamon is prominent. The Practical Plus features genuine Same (Ray Skin) on the handle, with a leather- ike wrap (Tsuka Ito) specially developed for its gripping qualities. The long tang is double pegged for security. The fittings of the Practical Plus are decorated in an antiqued Japanese Dogwood motif with dragon menuki, and the handsome tsuba is of an antiqued iron "sunburst" design with a brass habaki.
It features: a slightly shorter blade and longer handle. A stylish antique tsuba is also a NEW plus and topped off with an intricate antiqued Kashira (end cap). The handle is double pinned and removable. You can customize it with another tsuba or handle wrap. It also features a genuine rayskin handle. The NEW Practical Plus Katana features antique fittings.
